In this video, I walk you through how to send a custom invoice on Shopify—step by step—using the built-in draft order flow and (if you want to level things up) an invoice app. I start by explaining what I mean by “custom invoice” versus your standard order printouts like packing slips and order slips. Regular invoices usually match what a customer bought at your storefront price, but custom invoices are where you need flexibility: bulk orders, special discounts, extra delivery/consignment fees, or product customizations that change the final total. Then I show the exact workflow: go to Orders → Create order, add existing products (or custom items), adjust quantities for bulk, and apply a custom discount (like a percentage bulk discount with a clear reason). After that, I add custom shipping/delivery fees so the customer sees those costs transparently, set payment terms (due on fulfillment or a specific timeframe), add notes, attach the customer details, and create the order. From there, you can send the invoice directly, preview what the customer receives, and optionally set up automatic payment reminders.
