Right out of the gate, it surprised me: detailed and analytical, but with a bit of warmth that makes it easy to enjoy music while still letting me dig into a mix. The staging is a big win—it feels like a small listening room instead of that super in-your-face presentation. It’s not perfectly flat, but the neutrality is there, and honestly I think you could mix on these without EQ and be totally fine. Tonally, there’s a tiny nasal character I noticed, but it’s not a deal breaker and feels like an easy EQ fix. Bass is full but controlled—you get real sub depth and that soft, enveloping low end on toms and gong drum type hits, yet when the track calls for it, it’s punchy and fast with zero bloat. Transients are quick and clean, detail retrieval is solid (reverb/delay tails pop), and the whole thing feels refined for a dynamic driver. At 759 SGD here in Singapore, I see it as a legit “work and play” headphone with a premium build, comfy fit, and a more complete out-of-the-box balance than the stock R70XA or HD 650 (price brackets aside).
