About This Video

Hey, Joven here. In this episode I’m reviving my Studio Tour series—super rough, super real-life—because I’ve been sitting on this footage for a while and I didn’t want to bury it. This was shot December 2024, and I basically ambushed Kuya Jay Durias (South Border) during their livestream rehearsal prep (don’t do that, by the way). I’ll pause through the tour and point out what he had at the time of filming, with a quick disclaimer: the prices I mention are as of Feb 17, 2026—not what Jay actually paid, since some of this stuff was bought used. We get into Jay’s creative space as one of the titans of OPM and Filipino R&B—then straight into the gear: a Rogers Covington kit in piano black, a Noble & Cooley snare, and Zildjian Custom Special Dry cymbals, plus extra kits on the rack (Ludwig Breakbeats and a Tama Hyperdrive). On the desk and racks, you’ll see serious studio staples like Neumann KH310 monitors, an SSL Fusion for that analog “icing on the cake” on the master bus, a Manley Force tube pre, UA LA-610 channel strip, Warm Audio WA412 (I personally want one), a D-Box+ for monitoring/summing/DA, and an Apollo x8 tying the whole thing together. We also peek at his keys setup (Nord, Yamaha, Korg) and a quick bass rig check before rehearsal clips roll.
