About This Video

If you love interiors that feel clean and calm, but you still want them to feel warm and cozy, this video is my deep dive into warm minimalism (also called soft minimalism). The whole point is solving that “it’s nice, but I wouldn’t want to live here” problem that traditional minimalism can sometimes create. I walk you through how to keep the visual calm of minimalism while making the space feel emotionally and physically comfortable—like a place your nervous system can actually land. I break warm minimalism into two simple steps: first you strip your space back, and then you warm it up. On the “strip back” side, I focus on reducing visual noise (clearer surfaces, fewer small objects competing for attention), simplifying forms (clean lines, uncomplicated silhouettes), using a restrained palette, being intentional about what earns a place in the room, and relying on closed storage so you’re not seeing everything at the same time. Then I show you how to warm it up with warm neutrals (no stark white as the main event), the 60/30/10 rule for color, natural materials (wood is the life force here), texture instead of busy pattern, slightly softer shapes, and layered lighting with warm bulbs (around 2700–3000K) so the room doesn’t feel cold at night.
