WAVES CLA COMPS OVERSAMPLED || Does oversampling Waves plugins to 192khz really make a difference?? This week on mixing wednesday I am yet again oversampling plugins to see if there is actually an audible difference. Oversampled waves plugin shootout using hofa blind test once again. Plugins are internally oversampled via ddmf metaplugin from 48khz to 192khz which is the maximum sample rate that these waves audio plugin compressors are supported to. We are also having a look behind the audio plugins via ddmf plugin doctor and comparing the differences in linear frequency response as well as harmonics / THD. The waves compressors being compared is the cla 76 (urei 1176 clone), cla2a (teletronix la2a plugin emulation) and cla3a (universal audio la3a emulation). Another week, another audio test with music production software.. nothing new for all you audio engineers.
