What is the BEST VOCAL COMPRESSOR plugin to use when mixing?? sta level (timp vari level) or la2a (timp opto 32) or even an RCA BA-6A (timp ra6) ?? I listened to marcs mix just there and surprising how I went with a very different priority in regards to arrangement. I really need to listen to other other mixes first before just going with my gut haha FYI when I say I use these 3 comps after the kotelnikov it's only 1 I use. What I mean is that I genuinely compare 3 different vocal compressors and one of those will be what I use. Just incase people assume that I'm doing a parallel thing or using all 3 at once in series. Also this is purely just me sharing how I pick certain things in a mix. I make decisions within the context of the whole mix. All processing on. My vocal chain is very clean. Like super clean so any colour you hear before the levelling comps (the kotelnikov example) is just the character of the recording. im personally getting a bit bored by the whole youtube thing and would rather be mixing so apologies if you expected the usual stuff but I need to give an excuse to keep mixing even if its only for a couple of hours or whatever. Also what compressors do you use on vocals? Do you have a few go to's for different mixes and singers?
