About This Video

In this video I unbox and take a first look at the XbotGo Chameleon AI sports camera, after XbotGo reached out and sent one over for me to check out. Straight away, I didn’t realise what this little guy could do until I got it out the box—this is an AI sports camera with a 120° lens, team sports tracking (they’re saying up to 21 sports), player tracking, and importantly there’s no subscription required. In the box you get the camera itself (I’ve got it in the pale grey), the manuals, a USB‑C to USB‑C cable, and a handy little remote. I run through the hardware—quarter thread on the bottom for a tripod, USB‑C charging at the back, and the top mount that clamps your phone in place. Then I jump into the XbotGo app on my iPhone, show how fast it finds the device and remote, and I walk through the sport modes like soccer, basketball, ice hockey, tennis and even a “follow me” option. The idea is simple: mount it on a decent tripod, pick your sport and format (5v5, 7v7, 11 aside, etc.), and the camera will pan/tilt to follow the action, or even lock onto a player number. My only real gripe from this first look is the setup experience—those downloads/updates took ages and I’d love to see it as one big auto download—but the concept and the build feel genuinely premium. I’m planning to take it out to a real game and properly test it in a future video.
