What’s going on everyone—Paul here, and I’m carrying on with the iPhone 17 Pro Max. In this video I’m checking out something I normally don’t go for: a folio wallet case. This is the Nomad Modern Leather Folio (the 6.9 Pro Max 2025 version), and straight away I’m impressed with the full grain leather (sustainably sourced) and the overall build. Nomad’s done it in black this time, which I personally prefer, and honestly… it smells so, so good. You’ve got an 8ft drop-rated TPU bumper, metal buttons, a tactile camera control button, MagSafe compatibility, and a removable magnetic clasp. I run through the fit on the 17 Pro Max, weigh it (it’s hefty—75g for the case, 321g with the phone in), and check the protection: raised front lip, recessed camera housing, and proper coverage all round. MagSafe is solid too—I tested it with an Apple MagSafe charger and Nomad’s Base Stand and it holds with no issues. Buttons are nice and clicky, and camera control works perfectly. The one downside: if you use the clasp, a MagSafe battery pack won’t sit right because it lands on the clasp—so you’ll want to remove it when you need a battery pack. Overall, if you’re a folio case person, this one is quality (even if it’s a tad expensive).
