What’s going on everyone — in this video I finally get my hands on the Pitaka Aramid Ultra Guard for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and I’ve been waiting for this one. As soon as Pitaka announced it, I messaged them, and they were like “Paul, it’s already on the way,” which honestly tells you they know exactly what I’m into. I’ve featured Pitaka loads on the channel because I’ve used their cases for years, usually the ultra-thin ones, but I’ve got a funny feeling this Ultra Guard has just jumped right to the top of my list. I go through the packaging, the build, and all the little details that make this feel like a proper “Pro” case again — full aramid fibre back with TPU protection on the sides, the new Pitaka logo, anodised aluminium buttons, and that black camera housing that looks absolutely stunning. I weigh it as well (around 35g for the case), test the camera control button, and check the button feel — nice and clicky, super responsive. Then I run through MagSafe with an Apple MagSafe battery pack and my Nomad Base Stand, and everything locks on and charges exactly like you’d expect. Genuinely, this one’s right up there as one of the best aramid cases I’ve seen so far for the 17 Pro Max.
