In this video I’m sharing exactly how I do my Gel-X nails and the little tips and tricks that help me keep them on for at least two weeks. I recently did a set that lasted well over that, so I’m pretty confident my method works. I’m also gonna be real—I got so tired of going to the nail salon and never knowing what I was gonna end up paying. Now that I know how to do my own nails, I’m honestly obsessed. I start with full-cover gel tips from Amazon and I take my time sizing every nail “wall to wall” so there are no gaps on the sides (I hate seeing that). Then I prep for retention by lightly filing/drilling the inside base of each tip so the glue has something to grip. Another thing I do is apply my gel nail glue to my natural nails first and cure it before I even apply the tips—people on TikTok and YouTube swear by it, and it’s been working for me. After application, I show you how I paint them with gel polish, including my curing times (I learned the hard way to cure longer—up to 120 seconds with my lamp). I also clean up the edges with a tiny brush and acetone for that crisp finish, then I add some cute colorful gems for a simple pink summer look.
