In this video I’m doing my own nails at home and showing you how I got this super cute, simple French tip Gel X manicure. I’ve been loving French lately—like it’s genuinely my favorite thing ever—because it’s classic, classy, and it goes with everything. I start with my nails already prepped, then I size my nail tips (I got them from Amazon) and get everything ready before we even touch polish. I walk you through my stick-down method step-by-step: I use the Beetles nail glue, cure each nail (about 30 seconds), then I also rough up the inside of the tips with my little nail drill. I do both because I use my hands a lot, and this combo helps my nails stay on for real—like three to four weeks—without popping off. After shaping and buffing (my soothing favorite parts), I do a base coat (because skipping it is when things go wrong), then two coats of my favorite nude Beetles gel polish (B071), curing everything for 120 seconds. For the French tips, I tried that viral dip tool and… it did not work for me. So I ended up hand-painting and cleaning up with acetone and a brush, and I had to switch from a watery, sheer white gel to my Lavender Violets white because it’s thick and opaque. Finally, top coat pulls it all together and makes everything smooth and seamless.
