About This Video

In this video I give you a proper close-up look at the Hexamoto drawer system I picked up at the Overland Adventure Show. I’d already shown it in a couple of shorts, but I wanted to show how it actually sits in my 79 Series. Total stroke of luck: it’s meant for a Discovery (not 100% sure which one), but it fits perfectly between the wheel arches, and it butts up nicely against my bulkhead where I’ve got the spare wheel mounted up front. What really sold me is the material—this “trailer wood” style surface that reminds me of Ifor Williams trailer beds. It’s got that grippy, durable finish (I’ve been sliding a toolbox across the top and it’s been fine), and the whole thing feels seriously solid without me having to drill into the bed. The drawer is super smooth even when it’s loaded, the runner system is massive, and there’s a latch that holds it open so it doesn’t slide back in on you. I also show the removable dividers, how I’ve strapped it down using my cargo rails and fridge slide straps, and a cool little table panel I ended up mounting in the back because it just looks mint. I’m not sponsored by these guys—I just genuinely rate it as a really good quality option if you’re chasing a drawer setup that might work in a Land Cruiser.
