About This Video

In this video, I’m answering a question I know every baker has asked at some point: “Why are customers ghosting me?” You send a quote, then 24 hours… 48 hours… 72 hours… and it’s just crickets. I’ve been ghosted too (even recently), so I want you to know first of all: it’s not peculiar to you, you’re not doing anything wrong, and you really shouldn’t take it personally. This is one of those ups and downs of business, and if you don’t work on your mindset, it can feel discouraging and frustrating. Then I share practical things I do to reduce ghosting. I create a warm, friendly environment because I’m big on excellent customer service and building the know-like-trust factor. I acknowledge their details or design inspiration, keep the conversation clear (not unnecessarily long), and I leave it open-ended by inviting questions or concerns. Finally, I teach you the art of following up—without sounding desperate or like you’re pleading. Sometimes they genuinely forgot, sometimes they’re “cake shopping,” and sometimes it’s budget—either way, a calm follow-up can help you close the sale or move on with peace.
