In this video, I’m answering a question I know a lot of home bakers (especially those of us who have relocated and had to start over) ask all the time: “Why am I not making sales?” I’m speaking from personal experience here—when you leave your homeland, your old customers, and your familiar network, it can feel like you’re doing everything right but nobody is buying. And the truth I’ve observed is simple: people don’t know you yet. If people don’t know you, it’s harder for them to take the journey from seeing your cakes to actually buying from you. I also admit something I had to face myself—when you’re not showing up consistently (for whatever reason), people can’t learn your brand, your values, or what you can do. That’s where the real issue comes in: absence of trust. I always bring it back to the KLT factor—Knowing leads to Liking leads to Trusting. My takeaway is this: work on awareness, brand visibility, and trust-building. You can have all the cake superpowers and marketing skills, but if people don’t know you, it’s like you’re not there.
