About This Video

In this video, I’m sharing the essential baking tools and equipment that will make your life easier as a home baker—especially if you’re starting a cake business or you’re already baking and you’re wondering, “Do I really need this?” I go through the real must-haves: a stand mixer (or a hand mixer if you’re starting small), good baking pans, measuring cups/spoons or a digital scale (please don’t eyeball your ingredients), and the tools that help you decorate faster and neater—like spatulas (straight and offset), a silicone spatula for scraping your bowls properly, and a bench scraper/cake comb for smoothing. I also talk about a turntable (it makes decorating so much easier), a trimming knife for leveling, couplers and piping tips/nozzles for piping details (especially with the vintage cake trend), and disposable piping bags you can reuse until they burst. If you work with fondant, I mention basic cutters and a rolling pin (even a small one is fine). And yes—my sieve set is a must for me because I love sifting flour and icing sugar to avoid lumps and keep things light and airy. Most importantly, I remind you to start with what you have and upgrade over time—don’t feel pressured. The goal is to build a thriving, profitable cake business with tools that serve you and make your workflow smoother.
