About This Video

Hey guys—today I’m walking you through my updated short hair routine for my blunt bob, and exactly how I blow dry, flat iron, and finish it when I want that sleek, polished look. I had just washed my hair (no treatment day today), and since my hair is short and I cut it myself a couple weeks ago, I wanted to show you what’s actually working for me right now. One big thing: I don’t like blow drying on overly wet hair, and I also don’t use high heat—low heat is more than enough, especially when your hair is already kind of dried. I’m sharing the tools I reach for (a regular blow dryer, a bristle brush, and my BabyLiss titanium flat iron) and the products I prep with to keep my hair looking smooth without weighing it down. I go in with a little CHI Luxury Black Seed Oil Blend, a keratin treatment (only on wet hair because it can re-wet it), and always a heat protectant because I’m using a lot of heat. After I blow dry and flat iron, I finish with a tiny bit of an “everything oil” from Kausha mainly because I love when my hair smells good when I’m out. By the end, you’ll see the final bob, plus my honest thoughts on the unevenness and why I’ll probably go even shorter next time.
