What’s good everybody—Nonpfixion here. In this reaction I jumped into the newest official Superman trailer for James Gunn’s DC and I had one mindset: no questions, let’s get to it. I talked about how the first trailer caught me off guard in a good way—low expectations, but it hit that nostalgic vibe—and this new one just adds more fuel. I also told y’all straight up: if you can watch it in 4K, crank it up, because the visuals are moving fast and there’s a LOT happening in quick cuts. We get the Lois Lane interview angle right out the gate, and I dug into that whole “Superman acting illegally / representing America” debate, because I’ve never liked that framing. In my head, he’s not coming in as a military rep—he’s a person who cares and he’s trying to stop people from dying, period. I also called out a bunch of characters and moments I’m still piecing together: Ultra Man (maybe), Rick Flag’s dad, Lex’s crew, Mr. Terrific’s orbs, Metamorpho being locked up, plus Hawkgirl and Green Lantern looking badass. Overall? I feel like James Gunn is cooking, and I’m rooting for DC to finally keep the momentum—while still rocking with Marvel too. Be a kid again and support both.
