What’s good everybody—this one is my blind reaction to the official teaser for the live-action Moana, and I’m not even gonna lie… the music instantly took me back. The “It calls me” vibe had me hooked all over again, because that song lived in my head for weeks the first time around. I talk through the moments that hit, the tone Disney’s setting with the ocean visuals, and of course the comedic bits—because the chicken still kills me every single time. If you know, you know: the animated version had me dying with all that screaming and chaos. I also get into the big conversation people keep having about casting—especially folks asking why they didn’t just grab a mega-name like Zendaya. I’m not on that wave. For this story, I want authenticity and new faces—people who are actually connected to the culture the film is pulling from. And yeah, I’m curious about how The Rock is gonna look as Maui in live-action, because he can’t be cartoon-jacked without it looking wild, but I’m still interested to see how they pull it off.
