What’s good everybody—this one is my honest, blind reaction to XG’s “HOWLING” official music video. I jump in off rip talking about how crazy the visuals are: the colors, the imagery, the whole vibe is just stunning. The concept feels end-of-the-world-ish to me—like everybody’s plugged into technology while you’ve got these mystical, goddess-like characters and warrior energy with that bone/skeleton regalia. And that “howling” hook? It’s soothing on the ears (I know that sounds weird), but it really is—and I can already hear how insane it would sound with a whole stadium doing it together. Musically, I’m paying attention to the weight in the vocals and how clean the singing is, plus the rap pockets feel on point. I also talk about something I really respect about XG: for a group this size, everybody still gets their moment, and it doesn’t feel messy or overcrowded. By the end, I’m basically saying this is a dope record, I need to run it back to catch more of the rap lyrics and story, and I’d absolutely be here for a full short film version of this concept—on some Michael Jackson-type visual storytelling.
