About This Video

If you own embossing powders but they mostly sit in a drawer, I made this video for you. I’m sharing 3 heat embossing tricks that help you actually use what you already have—especially those glitter powders—and turn one session into easy two-for-one cards. I filmed this live and edited it down so you can get right into the good stuff: making a custom embossed background that looks like patterned paper (but isn’t), mixing embossing powders for a two-tone glitter panel, and then cutting that panel into coordinating pieces so you can build multiple cards from it. I walk you through my “ink swiping” method to cover an entire A2 panel with embossing ink (and yes—when you’re embossing the whole thing, you can skip the anti-static powder). The biggest game-changer is how I heat glitter embossing: I heat from the back first to melt the powder into the paper so you don’t blow glitter everywhere, then finish from the front while keeping the heat tool moving. I also share my go-to everyday embossing look—black ink with clear embossing—because it gives you that shiny, crisp outline that’s great for markers or watercolor and always makes people ask, “How did you do that?”
