If you ever felt like your cards need just a little bit more wow, this one’s for you. In this video I’m building a get well card (for our sweet Nancy) and packing it with texture—realistic honeycomb, layered stamping, subtle heat embossing, specialty cardstock, and an elegant wax seal. The star of the show is my embossing folder hack: using shimmer relief paste on the embossing folder to create a honeycomb “sheet” that peels off like plastic once it’s fully dry. I walk you through exactly which side of the embossing folder to use depending on the look you want—super shiny versus more matte (I went matte because it matched the wax seal better and felt more like real honeycomb). I also share the biggest make-or-break tips: apply the paste thick enough so you don’t see the folder through it, don’t smush it while it dries, and give it time (I plan for about 24 hours). Then I show layered stamping with ink blending right on the stamp for a more fluid honey look, plus a quick clear heat emboss over black outlines so nothing smears when we blend. It’s a lot of techniques on one card, but every step is doable—and the payoff is major.
