In this April Monthly Minis cash stuffing video, I’m back with my little stack of eight envelopes and a dice roll to decide how many bills go into each mini challenge. I had $110 total, and I did something a little different this time: I put a $5 base in every envelope so nothing feels like it’s going to take forever (especially the ones with higher icons). Then I mixed in a few “spicier dollars” (extra fives and a ten) so some categories get a surprise boost. We’re also chatting a bit about real life—work has been busy, Minnesota spring is doing its warm-then-rainy thing, and I’m pushing through spring cleaning even though I hate it. As I stuffed and colored in trackers from Budget with Amanda, Budget with Carly, Karen C Budgets, and Charlemagne Budgets, I actually finished three challenges today. I also had to stop and fix my rounding because I forgot at first—some challenges are $2 each, so odd amounts go to rounding, and I like my envelopes to end in fives or tens. After finishing, I reallocated the completed totals (rounded up) into my binders: $25 to my emergency fund (rainy day), $25 to Black Friday, and $25 to Christmas (miscellaneous). I’m still getting into the groove of Monthly Minis, but I’m really, really enjoying it—and it’s keeping future me on track.
