About This Video

In this video, I’m sharing part 2 of my NTU Medicine cost series—specifically, scholarships and bursaries, and how you can reduce the cost of studying med (potentially even “for free” if you stack the right aid). I’m only covering NTU + LKC (not NUS), and I break everything down the same way I think about med school expenses: tuition fees, accommodation/living expenses, and miscellaneous costs. When you’re researching awards, I also share what I always check—what the award covers, how much it covers (full fees vs fixed amount), and how many years it’s tenable for. I go through the main NTU scholarships that med students can actually apply for (because a lot are course-specific or exclude medicine), and I’m very honest that NTU scholarships are hard to get since the pool is huge. Then I cover NTU bursaries (like the Higher Education Bursary / Community Bursary / NTU Bursary), how the amount depends on household income, and the key thing: bursaries are usually only for one year, so you reapply yearly—but you can hold multiple at once (I’m holding two). Finally, I talk about LKC-specific scholarships (many are tenable for five years) and LKC bursaries like the Lee Kong Chian Bursary (which is super common in my school—I have it too). I also mention alternatives like tuition fee loans, study loans, and emergency funds, and I remind you that applications happen after you’re accepted into LKC Medicine, and interviews/tests can be part of the process.
