I also walk through blade installation step-by-step (including finding the spindle lock), because if you’re buying a budget saw, it needs to be easy to set up and maintain. After that, I jump straight into real test cuts with the battery sitting at 74%. And honestly… it’s not a great sign right out of the gate. The saw bound up almost immediately on a basic 2x4, and even when I slowed down, it still struggled. I double-checked the blade direction and installation because it felt like the saw was “spinning” but the blade wasn’t actually doing the work. My takeaway is simple: for me, this one is a no-go. If a circular saw can’t reliably cut a 2x4, it’s essentially useless for the jobs most people are buying it for. I’ve got a better alternative linked, and that’s the one I’d recommend instead.
