In this video I did a quick, hands-on review of the WANBO Vali 1 Pro Google TV smart projector, and I walked you through the setup in real time. Setup was honestly super easy—scan the code on your phone and finish everything there, so you’re not pecking around on the projector remote forever. Right away, this thing feels like a beast: it’s physically big, has a rotating base (love that), and gives you the ports you actually need: AUX, HDMI, and USB. You can also Bluetooth or screen share from your phone, so you’ve got a bunch of ways to feed it content. After about five minutes I was already streaming and checking image quality up close, and I was pretty amazed. Projectors never look great on camera, but in person the picture was crisp in the corners and it legitimately looked “4K-ish” even though it’s a native 1080p projector taking 4K input. I also tested it in a brighter room and then with the overhead light on—yes, blacks take a hit, but it stayed totally watchable with whites still looking really good. The remote was a big win too: super responsive, quick app buttons, voice option, and the autofocus/keystone correction made moving it back and re-aligning it basically effortless.
