In this video I tested the 70mai A800S, a 4K dual dash cam setup with a front camera and a 1080p rear camera. I unbox everything that comes with it, show how it mounts (it’s a sticky windshield mount), and walk through the initial setup. Setup was super easy—plug it into the cigarette lighter and you’re good to go—and I really liked that the on-screen UI labels the buttons for you during setup. One big downside right out of the gate: it doesn’t come with a microSD card, so you’ll need to bring your own. After that, I take it out for real-world daytime driving footage and talk through what I’m seeing. On a bright sunny day, the colors looked really true and poppy—blues are blue, greens are green—and overall the front camera quality impressed me for the price. There is a slight fisheye effect, but I didn’t find it distracting. I also show why the adjustable camera angle matters, because you can easily end up recording too much of your dash if you don’t dial it in. Finally, I cover parking mode: it supports 24-hour parking mode, but you’ll need a separate hardwire kit if you want it powered 24/7 while parked.
