In this video I do a quick hands-on review and real-world test of the YOTON Y9 smart projector. It’s a small, feature-packed portable projector that’s built around the big question everyone has in 2026: are budget smart projectors actually usable without needing a TV stick? I run through the smart features (Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video) and show it playing in a room that’s not impressively dark—bright outside, casual blinds down—and the image still comes through pretty crisp for midday viewing. I also walk you through the physical setup stuff that matters day-to-day: keystone and manual correction if you want it, plus autofocus so you don’t have to constantly mess with the image. On the back you’ve got HDMI, an aux port if you want to plug in a speaker, and USB for something like a flash drive. It even comes with a carrying case, an extra HDMI cable, and a little cleaner for the LED sensor. My biggest downside is it’s only 1080p, but it does support 4K input and it’s Netflix authorized, which is a big deal on cheap projectors. Overall, the YOTON Y9 is a pretty good option if you want a simple, portable smart projector for a bedroom or casual movie setup.
