Today we get my remote van life desk setup using the vannon lagun table mount. This is taking my camper van to the next level by giving me a place to work wile full time traveling and while doing van life.

About This Video

In this video I’m back in the Sprinter (Thor Tranquility 19P) working on a mod I’ve needed since day one: a real desk setup for full-time travel. The van already has the couch/table/bed situation in the back, but if it’s raining and Ash and I are both inside, I don’t want to be crammed up working right next to her. So I’m adding a front workstation by using the swiveling passenger seat and mounting a Lagun-style arm to a Van On bracket at the seat base. I walk through the install, including the not-so-fun part where I drop a bolt into the abyss and end up tearing into the trim to retrieve it (and a bunch of other mystery screws). I’ll show you what bits I used (T20), how I popped the covers, and the order that made the bracket install way easier—start the two bolts loose first, then do the D-ring bolt last. Once the arm is in, I mount a custom cherry tabletop my dad built, mark and drill the holes, and test the whole setup for leg clearance and movement. End result: it stores behind the seat, swings out of the way so I can still move around the van, and gives me a legit place to work for hours. It’s expensive (about $600 all-in), and I’ve got opinions about that, but functionally it does exactly what I need—especially with Starlink coming soon to finish the remote work setup.
