Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the Marilyn Darling Show—today’s a swatching video, and yes, I immediately opened the Pennonia Zodiac box upside down and the inks went absolutely everywhere. So I had to play “what animal is that even supposed to be” while I figured out the Chinese zodiac set (rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, pig). The fun part is these are meant to be mixed in pairs (a shimmer additive plus a base ink), but I swatched them separately because I wanted to see what each one does on its own—and because I’m already plotting how to steal those shimmer particles for other inks. We go through the whole rainbow: Ivory Coil (a thick, chunky shimmer potion), Earth Shimmer/Earthbound (a muddy brown that’s actually very pretty), Golden Shimmer/Golden Gleam (patchy sunset vibes), Lunar Shimmer/Lunar Sheen, Amber Shimmer/Amber Radiance, Sapphire Shimmer/Sapphire Glow (that base color is gorgeous), Midnight Shimmer/Midnight Shadow (black with a cool iridescent vibe), Khaki Shimmer/Khaki Mirage (green undertone + gold shimmer), Ruby Shimmer/Ruby Strike, Amethyst Shimmer/Deep Amethyst, Jade Shimmer/Cool Jade, and Rose Shimmer/Rose Quartz (and yes, it finally looks like real rose quartz to me). The big takeaway: these bottles need a ridiculous amount of shaking, the shimmer chunks are no joke, and now I need you to tell me—full reviews of each, or do I go full mad-scientist and mix them into everything?
