About This Video

Welcome back to the Marilyn Darling Show—today I’m reviewing Colorverse Colorvent Day 13: “Golden Mist”… which, I’m sorry, looks like golden piss. It’s an extremely light yellow-orange that’s so faint I can barely read what I wrote, and on camera it still doesn’t fully show how yellow it is in real life. I do a swatch, a water resistance test (shockingly, it doesn’t budge much for being this pale), and my usual “toilet paper chromatography” with water and rubbing alcohol—mostly yellow with a red splotch showing up, but nothing magical hiding in there. Then I run it through a pile of papers, and this is where it gets even more ridiculous: on darker or warmer papers it practically disappears, and on cheaper notebook papers it can feather and even bleed through in that sad, pale-yellow way. Some papers handle it cleanly (like CVS Caliber filler and a few nicer pads), but “clean” doesn’t fix “unreadable.” I also compare it to a few similar super-light oranges and yellows (like Private Reserve Neon Orange/Neon Yellow), and my conclusion is the same: unless you’re doing some kind of watercolor wash or a sunset gradient experiment, this one is just not it. If you want an ink you can actually write with, keep shopping.
