Welcome back to the Marilyn Darling Show—this is my Week 13 “Currently Inked,” and I’m running through nine pens that are inked up and ready to cause problems (in the best way). I’m swatching everything on my trusty CVS Caliber filler paper, talking about what behaved, what didn’t, and which inks have me thinking thoughts. I also mention a couple hiccups from last week: I ran out of Soft Mint, and I’ve got a pen that keeps leaking again—so I’m side-eyeing it hard because it’s not cute. This week is very Conrad-heavy: I’ve got multiple Noodler’s Conrads fitted with Fountain Pen Revolution ultra flex nibs, loaded with Dominant Industry Christmas Red, Jacques Herbin Orange Soleil, and Manuscript Glittering Gold (and yes, she’s a shimmer monster—give her a jiggle). I also show off my green Admok M400 with Private Reserve Sherwood Green Fast Dry, plus my newest pen, the Jinhao 20 in transparent shimmer with Pilot Iroshizuku Kon-peki—so sparkly I’m going to die. I talk pigment inks too: Diamine “Burr” is my newest favorite for envelopes, it’s permanent and water resistant, and I’m waiting (impatiently) for the bottle release. I finish up with a TWSBI 580 Iris full of Cross Violet Twinkle plus silver luster dust, a quick nib swap demo on a Pilot Kakuno, and my Pilot Vanishing Point broad—because I love it… even though I wish they made it without the damn clip.
