About This Video

Welcome back to my Currently Inked Pens—Week 12 of 2026—where I walk you through what’s actually in rotation on my desk right now and why. I’m coming off a “fine” Week 11, still owe a couple letters (sorry, friends), and I’m definitely running on fumes lately—so this week’s lineup is very much a comfort-and-color situation. I also do my usual little captain’s log moment, because yes, we’re still alive, and yes, Pi Day is tomorrow, which means I’ve got a pie to make. Ink-wise, I’m leaning hard into bright, pure rainbow energy: Krishna Primary Red in my red pen (because it’s just a lovely, beautiful red), Diamine Orange in my orange Noodler’s Conrad (I’m still hunting for a new favorite orange, and this one is right up there—even if the nib needs replacing), and Blackstone Golden Wattle in my yellow Noodler’s Conrad with an ultra flex nib. For green, I’ve got Blackstone Daintree Green in a Pilot 78G+ with that 1.0 mm stub-style “broad,” and Diamine Soft Mint in my FPR Himalaya v1 with a Schmidt broad (one of my favorite tealy colors). I round it out with Pilot Iroshizuku inks—Roku… Tukio in a Jinhao 10, Take-Sumi in my Pilot Vanishing Point—and a very fun “fake Lamy Dark Lilac” mix from my pen friend Kathy in a Majohn A2 extra fine, where you can even catch a bit of sheen.
