Welcome back to the Marilyn Darling Show—this is my Currently Inked Pens, Week 11, and yes, we are officially not in Kansas anymore (a.k.a. not in February). I’m setting up my lineup for March 6th through the 14th (hello, Pi Day), and I walk you through every pen, nib, and ink I’ll be using all week. I also do a quick little check-in on last week’s issues—because if an ink is going to be dramatic, it will do it on camera. Dark Lilac refused to come out of my Lamy Safari, so I had to disassemble the feed and pull the middle bit to fix the flow. Autumn Oak also got a little weird, and my Waterman kept giving me barnacles, which is just… awkward. For this week, I’m leaning into a very dark, moody palette with a bunch of Diamine favorites: All the Best, Flame, Candle Light, Best Wishes, Murder the Marrier, Raise a Glass, Cranberry, Writer’s Blood, and Good Tidings. The pens range from a Fountain Pen Revolution Himalaya v1 and an Airmok M400 (both with ultraflex nibs) to a rainbow Conklin Duragraph with a 1.1 stub, an Iris TWSBI Diamond 580 with a broad nib, and even my Jinhao 9019. I zoom in on swatches, point out a little sheen where it wants to show off, and wrap up with the usual reminders—links, Discord, and yes: get out there, enjoy your life, and tell the people you love that you love them.
