About This Video

Welcome back to the Marilyn Darling Show—today I’m reviewing Colorvent 2025 Day 12: Blood Falls from Colorverse. This one is a nice rich, dark, bloody red, and yes, it’s got a little bit of sheen going on there that you can see really clearly when it hits the right paper. I also do my quick water resistance test, and it has a tiny bit of water resistance—but it’s really smoochy, so I personally wouldn’t trust it on the outside of an envelope if there’s any chance it’ll get wet. After that, I put Blood Falls through the paper gauntlet. On cheaper papers it can feather like a chicken and even bleed through (and you know I’m going to call it naughty when it does). But on better performers—like CVS filler paper, Hobonichi notepads, Midori MD, and Tomoe River—you get that gorgeous sheen with clean lines and minimal drama. I also do my comparison panel to help you place this red among other reds, and I chat a bit about the eternal hunt for the “right” orange and gold inks (and why I’m not paying eBay’s ridiculous prices for discontinued bottles). If you want a dark red with personality and sheen, Blood Falls can be a stunner—just match it to the right paper.
