About This Video

In this video I got to do one of my absolute favorite things: a big, satisfying swatch session. I received a super generous dot card selection of Michael Harding watercolors (over 75 colors!), and I sit down with you to swatch them out so we can really see what they look like on paper. I’m not just looking for “pretty” here—I’m paying attention to how each color reads, which ones feel unique, and which ones might end up being workhorses in an everyday palette. As I swatch, I also start building a custom palette plan based on what I’m seeing in real time—balancing warms and cools, making sure I’ve got useful neutrals, and choosing colors that feel like they’ll play nicely together for future paintings and tutorials. If you’ve ever wondered how to go from a big set of options to a palette that actually makes sense for you, this is exactly the kind of process I use. Thanks for hanging out with me while I test, organize, and nerd out over color.
