I’m sharing a handful of simple, repeatable ways I keep my own sketchbook practice going so I’m not constantly waiting around for inspiration to magically show up. The big goal here is to build yourself an idea “pipeline” so you can sit down and start—whether you have five minutes or a full afternoon. I talk through practical idea sources you can set up once and use forever: prompt lists and challenge-style themes, collecting reference photos and little bits of ephemera, and creating quick “starter” pages you can come back to when you’re stuck. I also share how I like using tiny printers to add photos, labels, and inspiration right into my sketchbook (it makes the page feel less precious, which helps me actually use it). And because I love water-based media, I’m always thinking about ideas that work beautifully with watercolor—swatches, limited palettes, quick studies, and playful experiments that still look finished.
