In this video, I’m opening up some surprise art supplies and doing what I love most—putting them straight to work with watercolor. I start with the unboxing (because yes, I’m always curious if the goodies are actually useful or just cute), then I swatch and test as I go so I can see how the colors behave. I’m paying attention to things like how easily the paint rewets, how strong the pigment feels, and whether the set is something I’d actually reach for again. After I’ve played with the new materials a bit, I jump into a finished watercolor painting using the supplies from the box. This is the fun part: mixing colors, seeing what surprises show up on paper, and adjusting my process based on what the paints want to do.
