About This Video

I’ve been doing Inktober every year since 2018, and for Inktober 2025 I’m switching things up with a prep plan that feels way more doable (and honestly, way more fun). In this video I talk through how I’m approaching the challenge “done differently” so it doesn’t turn into an exhausting daily pressure-cooker. My goal is still to show up consistently, but in a way that supports my creativity instead of draining it. I share a handful of practical tips that help me actually finish the month—things like choosing tools that keep the workflow simple, setting up a sketchbook that can handle ink + watercolor, and doing a little pre-planning so you’re not staring at a blank page every day. I also chat about some of my favorite pens for linework (Microns, Micron PN, and the Tombow Fudenosuke) and why I like pairing them with watercolor for quick, satisfying pieces. If you want to participate in Inktober but you’re worried you’ll fall behind, this is your permission slip to prep smarter and make the challenge work for you.
