Living in a world where everything is expensive, I wanted to see if a $169 mini PC could actually handle creator tasks without breaking the bank. In this video I unbox and test the KAMRUI E1 (Intel N95, 12GB LPDDR5, 256GB M.2 SSD) through eight different real-world tests that matter for gaming creators: recording console gameplay with a capture card, pushing higher resolutions, doing emulation, and even trying a little bit of PC gaming. I start with 1080p60 capture from a PS5 in OBS using QuickSync H.264 and a CQP 23 workflow—and that part genuinely surprised me in a good way. But when I step up to 2K60 using the Elgato 4K X, I run into consistent freezing after a few minutes, and 4K60 is basically unusable. On the flip side, PS2 emulation with PCSX2 ran great for me, and I could record the emulator gameplay with a facecam and mic without the setup falling apart. My final takeaway is simple: if you’re on a very tight budget and you need 1080p60 capture/streaming or emulation, it can work. If you want 2K/4K recording or heavy gaming, save up and get a more suitable machine.
