Mini PC

This is the KAMRUI E1 mini PC I tested at around $169 with an Intel N95, 12GB LPDDR5, and a 256GB M.2 SSD (upgradeable). For me, it proved it can handle 1080p60 capture/streaming in OBS using QuickSync, but it fell apart when I pushed 2K60 stability and anything 4K60.

Pros

  • +Handled 1080p60 capture in OBS without encoding overload in my test
  • +QuickSync H.264 worked well for budget recording/streaming
  • +Great for PS2 emulation (PCSX2) and recording emulator gameplay
  • +Compact size and SSD is replaceable/upgradeable

Cons

  • -2K60 recording had freezing issues after a few minutes
  • -4K60 recording was unusable and extremely choppy
  • -Not suitable for heavy-duty PC gaming
  • -No USB-C and ports feel limited without a hub

What MidnightMan says

This mini PC that I have here will hopefully fit that criteria
The mini PC that I picked up here is the Camry Essin E1
With the mini PC all set up and ready to play around with, I wanted to ask you guys what you thought we should test to push this things to its limit
So that leads us to the second test of seeing how well 2K60 can be recorded on this mini PC
But diving into test number four on this mini PC, I wanted to see how well it could emulate and play games
