Setting up a professional PS5 streaming setup is honestly not as complicated—or as expensive—as people make it seem. In this build, I start completely from scratch and walk you through the physical desk setup first: a Pixio 1440p 180Hz monitor for gaming, a second Titan Army 240Hz monitor for stream controls (and yes, I flip it vertical because it looks sick), plus a monitor arm to free up desk space. Then I plug in the “brains” of the stream: an LTC MC741 Linux mini PC (Ryzen 7, 16GB DDR5, 1TB SSD) with a simple keyboard/mouse setup. After that, I get into the stream-specific gear that actually makes the whole thing work: lighting (non-negotiable), a facecam, and the capture/audio chain. I use the Fifine V3 capture card to bridge PS5 to the PC (1080p60 capture with 4K passthrough), the Fifine AM8 Pro mic with the SC8 mixer, and I pull PS5 audio through the controller into the mixer so I can balance game and chat. On the software side, I run YUbuntu Linux and install OBS through the terminal, dial in 1080p60 settings, test HEVC, fix a real-world capture card USB issue by switching ports/cables, and even swap the included aux cable for an Elgato Chat Link Pro when the audio sounded scuff. By the end, I’m recording and streaming Fortnite and Street Fighter with clean audio and a setup that can absolutely be replicated on Windows or Mac too.
