In this video, I walk you through OpenClaw (formerly ClawdBot/Moltbot) and why I think it might be the most exciting AI tool I’ve ever seen. Unlike ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini—where you “go to a website” and the assistant basically stops when you close the tab—OpenClaw runs on your own server, keeps working 24/7 even while you sleep, and can actually reach out to you when something matters. You can text it like a friend inside apps you already use (Telegram is the easiest), and it builds long-term memory that you control because it lives on your VPS. Then I show the full beginner setup: deploying OpenClaw on a VPS using Docker with no coding, connecting an AI model provider (I use Anthropic/Claude), and logging into the OpenClaw dashboard with your gateway token. After your first chat, OpenClaw runs a bootstrap onboarding to learn who you are, your timezone, and the “vibe” you want—then it saves that context on your server. Finally, we connect Telegram via BotFather, pair the bot, and start using OpenClaw from the phone. I also demo the real power: installing skills (plugins) like the Google Workspace skill (GOG) so it can access Gmail/Calendar/Drive, and setting up a daily 7:00 AM briefing with a cron job. The big takeaway: this is the difference between an AI you visit and an AI that works for you.
