About This Video

In this video, I show you step by step how to set up OpenClaw in the easiest and most secure way possible. The big idea is simple: instead of running OpenClaw on your personal computer, we install and run it on a VPS (virtual private server). That way, OpenClaw doesn’t get access to sensitive personal information on your machine, and your assistant can stay online 24/7 without you needing to keep anything running locally. I use Hostinger for the VPS setup because it’s affordable and they have a 1-click install for OpenClaw, which makes the whole process a lot easier. After deploying OpenClaw, I walk you through grabbing your OpenClaw gateway token (don’t share it), adding your language model API key (I use Claude/Anthropic, but you can also use OpenAI, Gemini, or XAI), and logging into the OpenClaw dashboard to confirm you’re connected. Then we connect Telegram using BotFather, create a bot, paste the HTTP API token back into OpenClaw, and finish pairing with a user ID or pairing code. Finally, I send a test message in Telegram to confirm the bot is connected and to check which model it’s using.
