Hey, I’m Caleb from Metics Media, and in this video I walk you through the best and easiest way to set up OpenClaw (formerly Clawdbot/Moltbot) so you can build your own AI assistant that runs 24/7. The big difference is simple: ChatGPT is something you go to in a browser tab, but OpenClaw can live inside the apps you already use, keep working in the background, and run tasks on a schedule. I show the full setup with no code, including how to deploy it on a VPS so it stays online even when your personal computer sleeps, restarts, or your internet flakes out. I use Hostinger because it’s beginner-friendly and does a one-click OpenClaw deploy, then I show you exactly where to paste your gateway token and add your OpenAI and/or Anthropic API keys (billing needs to be enabled). After that, we connect Telegram so you can text your assistant from your phone, and I show how to confirm (and switch) the model it’s using. Then we get into skills—where to find them, how to install them from GitHub/ClawHub, and what to do when a skill is blocked due to missing dependencies on your VPS. Finally, I set up cron jobs so your assistant can run hands-off automations (like summarizing Gmail and Calendar and sending you a Telegram update), and I cover the security basics: backups, locking down dashboard access, SSL if you add a domain, and treating every token like a password.
