Good morning guys — in this one I head straight into downtown Houston after what looked like a possible tornado rolled through. I started by checking on my car and my building, and at first I thought I was in the clear… but then I realized there was actually a broken window up at my building and glass literally all over my front doorstep. From there, I hit the streets with my drone to get a firsthand look at what the storm did just a few blocks away, because the camera honestly doesn’t do justice to how much debris and shattered glass was everywhere. I walk you through key spots like Texas & McKinney, Wells Fargo Plaza, City Hall, the former Enron buildings, and the Hyatt Regency area. Whole streets were shut down, trees were shredded, and you could see windows blown out across multiple buildings. I’m also constantly looking up because my biggest fear is loose windows still falling. Along the way I talk to a local who points out even more damage, and I share some perspective on how surreal it feels seeing downtown like this — plus I can’t help but think about the homeless population down here and the lives lost. It’s a raw, on-the-ground look at the aftermath and the massive cleanup Houston is facing.
