In this forecast I’m breaking down a major weather shift that’s about to take a serious turn across the U.S. We’re going from a strong cold front pushing through the Midwest and Northeast (with some places dropping 30 to 40 degrees in about a day) to a quick reload of warmth by midweek. That heat blast surging north by Wednesday is a big deal, because it helps reset the pattern and brings severe weather chances back later this week into the weekend. I walk through the jet stream and mid-level flow, because that’s what’s driving all of this. Early week is relatively quiet and very stable for early April—honestly, the only unstable thing out there is my sleep schedule after all the live streams. But by Thursday and Friday, instability and dew points start coming back in the central and southern Plains, and we’ll be watching for damaging winds, large hail, and maybe a tornado or two. The more organized setup looks more likely by Sunday into Monday, with Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska as the main hotspots over the next 10–14 days, and then potentially spreading toward the Midwest, Ohio Valley, and eventually Dixie Alley as we get deeper into mid-April.
