I linked up with Tim and flew to Norway to do something that sounded kind of unhinged on paper: shoot three short films together—one in 24 hours, one in 7 days, and one with a full 30 days to finish post. The whole point was to feel what time pressure does to your creativity, and what happens when you actually give an idea room to breathe. We started the 24-hour film by picking music first (Artlist), built a theme around “you’re currently living the good old days,” and then immediately got humbled when we had to pivot our plan mid-shoot. It was grindy, the bugs showed up, and the countdown stress was real—but we still got it done and premiered it with the crew. For the 7-day film, we finally got to do proper pre-pro (PP, pre-pro… you know the vibe), chose a more mellow track, and focused on the idea of living like the countdown already started. Then the 30-day film was a totally different beast: we conceptualized it before leaving Norway, used an AI voiceover from Artlist, shot a must-have pickup list on our final hike, and finished the edit back in Canada. Biggest takeaway? I learned I don’t want to make travel films alone anymore—the best stuff gets sparked in the friction, the laughter, and the late-night edits with other creatives.
