About This Video

I picked up the Fuji X10 on Marketplace for $220 right before a trip to Nashville, and I wanted to see if a 15-year-old compact is still worth buying in late 2025/2026. In this video I break down the real-world pros and cons for photography, plus I share raw images so you can judge the files for yourself. The big surprise for me is how much this camera still delivers when you treat it like a “dial in your skills” tool instead of chasing the newest thing. On the pro side, the built-in pop-up flash is honestly one of my favorite parts of the camera—it’s small, adjustable, and gives that high-flash “Vogue” look that makes it way more versatile than a basic travel compact. The 28–112mm fixed lens is the secret sauce here, and even with the smaller 2/3" sensor, 12MP is plenty for social and everyday work. It also shoots RAW, which matters to me because I actually enjoy editing in Lightroom and making my own presets. On the con side, the optical viewfinder is old-school (no digital overlays), autofocus can struggle—especially zoomed in—and low light gets noisy once you push past ISO 640–800. My verdict: it’s not a pro workhorse, but it’s one of the best cheap starter photography cameras you can buy to learn manual settings, composition, and build your own style without breaking the bank.
