About This Video

In this video I’m putting the DJI Osmo Action 4 back under the microscope and answering the big 2025 question: is it still worth buying, or should you just jump to the Action 5 Pro? I took the Action 4 to Turkey (including some caves) and I’m sharing real-world thoughts on price, low light, stabilization, audio, and how close it actually is to the newer model. I also left the original files in the description so you can download them and pixel-peep for yourself. I walk through my go-to “make it look cinematic” setup: switching into Pro mode, locking shutter (1/50 for 24p), keeping EV around 0.0, setting a consistent white balance (like 5500K in daylight), using ND filters, and shooting 10-bit D-Log M for the best dynamic range. I was honestly impressed with how well the 4K holds up and how the colors didn’t fall apart when I started pushing LUTs. My takeaway: you can stay a version behind. The Action 5 Pro doesn’t bring a meaningful low-light leap (same sensor size), and the 4K difference is hard to spot. Save the money, and if you want extra runtime, you can even use Action 5 Pro batteries in the Action 4.
