The DJI Mini 3 dropped back in December 2022, and in this video I’m breaking down whether it’s still worth buying in 2024—and more importantly, who it actually makes sense for. I walk through the biggest pros after testing it with real-world footage (and I linked all the straight-out-of-camera photo + video files so you can pixel peep yourself). The standout for me is low light: that f/1.7 aperture plus the dual native ISO behavior (clean at ISO 100 and again around ISO 500) makes it surprisingly usable at night for a sub-250g drone. I also talk about why the RC controller is a legit game changer if you’re sick of plugging in your phone mid-shoot. From there, I cover the stuff that matters day-to-day: 4K HDR video, vertical shooting for Reels, RAW photos (DNG), USB-C charging on the go, and battery life that can hit 38 minutes (or up to 51 with the bigger battery—just know the weight tradeoff). Then I flip the mood and get honest about the cons: no log profiles (it’s Rec.709 only), no internal storage, no H.265, no collision sensors, no ActiveTrack, and no 4K60. My verdict is simple: if you’re on a budget and want solid 4K with great portability (and decent low light), the Mini 3 is kind of a no-brainer for most people.
